Baghdad, January 14: Iraq’s Foreign Minister, Hoshiar Zibary, has denied on Thursday the execution of Iraqi citizens in Saudi Arabia, according to the Iraqi Legislature, Quteiba al-Jibouri.
“Zibary, during his attendance of the Parliament’s session on Thursday, has denied the execution of 40 Iraqis in Saudi Arabia, reaffirming that his Ministry had made sure, through its Ambassador in Riyadh, that such a thing had not happened,” Jibouri told Aswat al-Iraq news agency, adding that some Parliament Members had suggested the formation of ac-committee to visit Saudi Arabia, in order to confirm the issue.
Iraq’s Human Rights Ministry had called recently for the opening of an international investigation to investigate the reports about the execution of Iraqi prisoners in Saudi Arabia, charging the Saudi authorities with having “executed dozens of Iraqis without just trials, and demanding the International society to interfere, in order to check the files of Iraqi prisoners in Saudi Arabia.
