‘Iran’s military might deters attacks’

Tehran, August 23: Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad says Iran’s military might is aimed at preventing aggression and injustice and underscored the deterrent nature of the country’s defense policies.

“Iran does not seek to use its military might to conquer lands and prevail against humanity,” IRNA quoted President Ahmadinejad as saying on Tuesday.

He added that the best deterrent would discourage the enemy from daring to launch an aggression as it remains confident that any such attempts will entail a “crushing” response.

The Iranian chief executive stated that the country’s plans and moves should cripple the enemy so that it could not wish to take measures to undermine the country.

President Ahmadinejad called on Iran’s defense forces to repel any aggression against Iran.
