Iran waiting for a change in US policy: VP

Tehran, October 26: Iranian First Vice President Mohammad Reza Rahimi says that Iran is waiting for a change in US policy toward Iran.

“US President Barack Obama has made positive and useful speeches in some places, but he has also acted contrary to his remarks,” Rahimi told the Chinese television network Phoenix in an exclusive interview.

He expressed hope that Obama would act on what he has promised in his speeches.

Commenting on Iran’s nuclear talks with the five permanent members of the United Nations Security Council plus Germany, Rahimi said since the talks are based on Iran’s package of proposals to the 5+1 group, they can be considered a step forward for the Islamic Republic.

“The Iranian nation and government do not pay heed to the pressure exerted by the West on Iran. We hope that the Westerners have come to realize that they cannot proceed by adopting a domineering diplomacy,” he added.
