Tehran, May 20: Iranian Intelligence Minister Heydar Moslehi has described Tehran’s treatment of the three US citizens, captured while illegally intruding into Iranian territory, as just.
We have treated the US national according to our religious principles and on humanitarian grounds, even though these individuals committed an act of espionage by illegally crossing the [western] border into Iran,” said Moslehi, speaking to reporters Wednesday.
“But you can bear witness as to how they (the Americans), who claim to advocate human rights, treat our people in return,” he said.
“We have asked the Americans to reciprocate and treat the innocent Iranian individuals that the US has abducted well,” the Intelligence Minister added.
On Wednesday, Iran granted visas to mothers of the American detainees so that they can visit with their children in Tehran.
