Tehran, April 02: Iran’s Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Mohammad Hosseini says Iran can serve as a model for the region and the world by drawing on its potentials.
“By utilizing capacities and potentials and creating cultural infrastructures, we can turn the Islamic Republic into a model for the region and the whole world,” Hosseini said during the Friday prayers in Qeshm Island,
Fortunately, Iran has made big gains in scientific, cultural, social, political, industrial, military and economic fields, … and in the Year of Economic Jihad, we will move closer to the goals set by [the late founder of the Islamic Republic] Imam [Khomeini] and Leader of the Islamic Revolution [Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei], added the Iranian minister.
The Leader of the Islamic Revolution has named the new Iranian calendar year as “The Year of Economic Jihad,” thus spurring a national effort to improve and invigorate Iran’s economy.
On the occasion of Nowruz, Ayatollah Khamenei called for a mobilized effort by the entire nation as well as Iranian officials to set the grounds for a decade of economic growth.
Hosseini also highlighted the role of the country’s media and the press, saying that they can neutralize the enemy’s soft warfare and help further the achievements made by Iranian officials throughout the new Year of Economic Jihad.
The senior official, moreover, referred to the recent uprisings and revolutions in the Middle East and North Africa, emphasizing that they were inspired by Iran’s 1979 Islamic Revolution and the ensuing establishment of the Islamic Republic of Iran on Farvardin 12 (April 1).
The Iranian minister arrived in Iran’s Persian Gulf island of Qeshm Friday, heading a delegation to inaugurate the first and largest cultural and artistic complex in the Persian Gulf.
