Iran Gen. warns against ‘soft war’

Tehran, January 03: A senior Iranian commander has warned against enemies’ plots to wage a soft war aimed at countering the Islamic Republic, stressing the importance of recognizing diverse aspects of such a war.

“It is an absolute necessity for the Islamic establishment in Iran, which has new words for the world, to identify various aspects of this soft war,” IRNA quoted Deputy Head of Iran’s Armed Forces Joint Chiefs of Staff Brigadier General Masoud Jazayeri as saying on Sunday.

“We should accept that the war is continuous…There is a difference between the nature of the arrogant system and the Islamic Republic of Iran,” he added.

The Iranian commander emphasized that Iran will achieve victory “when arrogant systems are weakened and near their full collapse as a result of the Islamic Republic’s power.”

He pointed to an all-out war in both soft and hard fronts waged by super powers against Iran over the past 30 years, adding, “These powers have confessed they were defeated against a political unit named the Islamic Republic.”

Jazayeri noted that all Iranians should shoulder the responsibility to counter the soft war “in order to take firm steps towards achieving our objectives.”
