Iran’s football club Tractor Sazi Tabriz have parted company with their head coach Majid Jalali.
The decision, made after six months, came following the weak results of Tractor Sazi Tabriz in its recent matches. The club is currently sixth in Iran Professional League (IPL), six points behind leader Esteghlal of Tehran, reports Xinhua.
“I have nothing to say at the moment. However, I will talk about that in the future,” Jalali said Sunday.
According to the Tabriz-based club, Portuguese Antonio Jose Conceicao Oliveira will be named the replacement in the next few days.
“Oliveira will take charge of the team until the end of the season,” said Tractor Sazi Tabriz general manager Hamid Zeinizadeh.
Oliveira is supposed to begin his second stint as the coach of the Tabriz-based club. The 67-year-old was appointed the head coach of the team in June 2012 and finished in second place in IPL last year.
