Tehran, October 18:: About 98 traffic incidents on Iranian roads have claimed the lives of 15 and left 145 injured during the past 24 hours.
“Twenty seven of the accidents were due to careless driving, 13 accidents occurred for ignoring give-way signs, 16 accidents occurred because of failing to comply with double white lines and the rest as a result of excessive speeding,” head of the Traffic Control Department, Hossein Alishahi, said on Sunday.
“Of the 98 accidents, there were 30 cases where a vehicle overturned,” he added.
Alishahi mentioned that the most fatal car crash happened at 11:00 o’clock yesterday morning when four people were killed and two others injured after a Saipa Pride sedan overturned on Tehran-Isfahan road. According to the traffic police officer, the cause related to careless driving.
“In one further incident, a Toyota pickup overturned in Minab-Jask road leaving all 25 illegal Afghani passengers injured” he explained.
