Tehran, April 15: The 13th Caucasian international tourism fair has kicked off in the Georgian capital Tbilisi with 180 organizations participating, including tourism companies from Iran.
The three-day International Tourism Exposition “EXPO 2011” was opened in Expo-Georgia exhibition centre on Thursday by Georgian Economic Development Minister Vera Kobalia, and Minister of Environment and Natural Resources of Georgia Giorgi Khachidze, in the presence of Director of National Tourism Agency, Maia Sidamonidze, IRNA reported.
Vera Kobalia stated in the fair’s opening ceremony that his country has put development of its tourism industry high on agenda.
He also expressed gratitude for participation of Iranian companies in the “EXPO 2011” fair, which will be running through April 16.
Iranian Ambassador to Georgia Majid Saber attended the opening ceremony of the international fair along with representatives of tourism organizations from other countries, including Turkey, Belarus, Azerbaijan, Moldova and Ukraine.
Three pavilions have been allocated for the Iranian Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization and other Iranian tourism companies participating in the event.
