Iran air defense success remarkable

Tehran, April 18: Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Ahmad Vahidi says Iran’s achievements in the air defense sector have been remarkable.

Vahidi made a reference to the anniversary of Iran’s Army Day on April 18, saying “The Army has made good progress in all its forces, air defense has succeeded to make outstanding achievements in enhancing capabilities,”

Meanwhile, the Army Ground Force has achieved a “very great level of readiness” and the Army Navy Force has demonstrated its capabilities at the “global” level, he added.

The defense minister pointed to various military products of the Iranian Army Air Force, saying all of them will be displayed on the anniversary of the Army Day.

Since the victory of Iran’s Islamic Revolution in 1979, the country has embarked on a campaign for self-sufficiency in the defense industry and launching numerous military projects.

Iran has repeatedly assured that its military might poses no threat to other countries, saying the country’s defense doctrine is based on deterrence.
