IPS officer transferred for second time in 2 months

Sukama (Chhattisgarh): Chhattisgarh government has transferred Sukma’s Superintendent of Police (SP) Jitendra Shukla within two months of taking the post.

This is Shukla’s second transfer ever since the Congress formed the government in the state in December last year.

An Indian Police Service officer of the 2013 batch, Jitendra Shukla is now attached with police headquarters. He was earlier posted in Narayanpur before Sukma.

Reportedly, Shukla was transferred from Sukma after he denied a state minister’s demand of transferring an inspector.

The frequent transfer of the IPS officer has also led to a war of words between BJP and Congress.
The opposition has accused the Congress of not allowing government officials to work independently.

Whereas the Congress has refuted the charges and stated that transfers were done in public welfare.
