IPS officer trainees call on President Mukherjee

A group of 133 Indian Police Service (IPS) officer trainees of 65 RR (2012 Batch), including 20 female officers called on President Pranab Mukherjee at the Rashtrapati Bhavan here today.

Addressing the officer trainees, Mukherjee said they would face many challenges in the service of their motherland. These included the challenges pertaining to protecting social harmony, maintaining national integrity and combating divisive forces etc.

He said their job is multifarious. He advised them to always remember that their conduct and behaviour is a reflection not only of the police force, but is actually a projection of the entire administration before the common people. Mukherjee said that in the present times, the forms of terrorism have changed and dimensions of crime have increased. Cyber crimes have also become a big threat.

The police forces must therefore be well equipped to face these challenges effectively. He wished the officer trainees all success in their careers so that they perform their duty with the professionalism, competence and dedication expected of them. (ANI)
