Hyderabad: In order to improve the performance of Minority Welfare Department, the government has appointed an IPS officer as Director Minority Welfare. Joint Commissioner Police Cyberabad Shahnawaz Qasim has been transferred and has been made Director Minority Welfare.
Secretary Minority Welfare N Dana Kishore was holding the additional responsibility so far. After the transfer of IFS Officer Jalaluddin Akbar no permanent appointment was made on the post and Secretary Minority Welfare was holding the additional responsibility.
After the various complaint by Minority Welfare Department regarding lackadaisical implementation on various schemes, chief minister decided to appoint an IPS officer.
