Jaipur: Devashish Deo, a 2013 batch IPS officer finally gave up on Sunday while he was undergoing treatment for his prolonged illness.
The 39-year-old IPS officer was caught in a controversy after he slapped a BJP worker for his alleged misbehavior in Kota.
The officer was undergoing treatment after he sustained grievous head and spinal injuries when he reportedly fell from a height after his chair broke down. The officer was serving his duty at Brahma Temple, Ajmer in January when the incident happened.
According to a police spokesperson, he is reported to be posted as Deputy Director at Rajasthan Police academy(RPA).
He was first admitted to a Government hospital in Pushkar and was later shifted to Imperial Hospital.
Due his head and spinal injuries the officer had been paralyzed for the last 10 months said the spokesperson.
