Incidents of Match fixing and betting are not new during the IPL season. In a fresh Rajasthan Royals allegedly approached by a Ranji teammate to fix a game.
According to an NDTV report, BCCI officials have confirmed them that the player was approached just before he joined his teammates at a training camp last month.
The player didn’t accept the offer, and instead informed about the incident to his franchise officials, who in turn reported it to the Anti-Corruption and Security Unit (ACSU) of the IPL.
The match-fixing offer was made at a time when Rajasthan Royals were gearing up to play their first IPL match against Kings XI Punjab.
In the sixth season of IPL in 2013, RR players Sreesanth, Ankeet Chavan and Ajit Chandila were arrested for spot-fixing.
