IOB rally to overcome RCF

Mumbai, February 22: Indian Overseas Bank from Chennai rallied superbly to down Rail Coach Factory, Kapurthala 73-67 in the men’s section of the 26th UPL-Ramu Memorial Basketball tournament at the Indian Gymkhana here today.

After letting the latter hold the lead for most of the tie, IOB turned the game around in the fourth quarter when S Robinson came into the pivot position and scored a clutch of five baskets to help his team move from 49-54 deficit in the third quarter to a 61-57 advantage.

The international scored a game high of 27 points but it was Mihir Pandey who kept the bank team in the chase with his 10 points, six assists and six rebounds. Pratam Singh had a 16-point game with six rebounds.

For the losers, Arjun Singh had a triple-double, scoring 21 points and getting 11 assists and pulling down 10 rebounds.
