Investments worth Rs. 40,379 crore approved

(Siasat News) State Level Investment Promotion Board has permitted the establishment of 25 mega projects in the state. It is expected that an investment of Rs. 40,379 will be made which will generate employment for 41,180 candidates.

It was decided in the meeting of Investment Promotion Board held in Secretariat under the Chairmanship of the Chief Minister Mr. N. Kiran Kumar Reddy. At the end of the meeting, addressing the media persons, Heavy Industries Minister Dr. J. Geetha Reddy told that in cement, fertilizers, foods, glass, plastic, steel & textile industry, investors have taken initiative to start projects in Adilabad, Guntur, Krishna, Kurnool, Mahaboobnagar, Nalgonda, Nellore, Ranga Reddy, Viskhapatnam, Vizianagaram, East and West Godavari districts. She said that in 2011, 55 mega projects were approved, out of which work has already been started in 11 units. They have started production.

She also said that there are opportunities for investing Rs. 93 crore. So far, steps have been taken to provide jobs to 25 thousand unemployed persons. The minister told that the rate of industrial growth of the state has risen to 7.8% from 7.1%. She told that the state is marching forward in industrial sector despite financial problems. She told that in production sector, the state has registered the rate of growth as 12.5%. In order to accelerate industrial progress in the state, Govt. of A.P. is taking steps to attract Gujarat Industrialists to set up industries in the state for which the Govt. is offering facilities and incentives so that the industrialists may set up more industrial units in A.P. State.
