A social organisation today demanded that a criminal case be registered in connection with the incident of an undertrial allegedly getting pregnant while in Jhabua jail. Yuva Paigham’s lawyer Manoj Dwivedi told reporters that the matter must be investigated thoroughly and action must be taken against the guilty. The lawyer claimed his organisation had approached the Madhya Pradesh Human Rights Commission to find out how two contradictory reports were given about the undertrial by the government-run M Y Hospital here. Dwivedi claimed that in its first report, the hospital said that the 35-year-old woman was five months pregnant and then it came out with another report which said that she was not pregnant. PTI
