State INTUC president Somarapu Vijayalakshmi here on Sunday called upon the workers to keep off from the All India general strike.
Speaking to the media, Vijayalakshmi said that veteran leader G. Sanjeeva Reddy was no more president of the INTUC, which is affiliated to the Congress party. Expressing her dismay over Sanjeeva Reddy extending his support to the All India general strike sponsored by the Central Industrial Trade Unions, Vijayalakshmi said the INTUC was totally opposed to the nationwide strike all.
She said that at the behest of Congress president Sonia Gandhi and AICC vice-president Rahul Gandhi Chandrasekhar Dube was appointed INTUC national president and she was representing the State.
State INTUC leader Dharmender, Subhadra Reddy, Shaik Madar, Bandari Satyanarayana, Binge Sudhakar, MD Amar, P. Narasiah and others were present. (NSS)
