Nearly 500 activists of Indian National Trade Union Congress (INTUC) on Saturday staged a protest at Gandhi Bhavan demanding that the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee give tickets to INTUC in the forthcoming Assembly and Lok Sabha elections.
Speaking to media persons, INTUC Joint Secretary V Srinivas said that the Congress party have always ignored the services of INTUC leaders in allocation of tickets and therefore, it should allocate tickets to the trade union leaders in the ensuing elections. He said that representation in this regard has also been made to the Congress High Command.
The dharna went on for nearly three hours disrupting the regular activities of Telangana Congress headquarters. (INN)
