Hyderabad, August 29: Hailing Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy’s announcement that the Centre would take decision on Telangana state in the next two months, Telangana Congress Steering Committee convener K Kesava Rao on Sunday asked him to take steps in this direction by convening Congress Legislature Party meeting.
Talking to media persons at his residence, K Kesava Rao stated the Chief Minister has to fulfill the promise by convening CLP meeting to prevail upon all MLAs on the issue. He also asked the Chief Minister to introduce Telangana resolution in the Assembly in the upcoming session for the formation of separate state. He said if the Chief Minister agrees on his demands, then the Telangana leaders would defer the agitation for three months, after consulting all political parties in the state.
Kesava Rao described former chief minister K Rosaiah as `first villain of Telangana.’ Despite getting directions from the party high command, Rosaiah did not introduce resolution on Telangana in the state legislative assembly. By failing to introduce Telangana resolution, he become a traitor of Telangana and back stabbed Congress president Sonia Gandhi.
The Congress MP asked Rosaiah to assume Tamil Nadu Governor’s post only after giving explanation to Telangana people on this issue. After seeking explanation from Rosaiah, he said the Telangana MPs would consider moving privilege motion against Union Home Minister P Chidambaram for reversing his announcement on Dec 9, 2009, Kesava Rao said.
