Hyderabad, December 17: Demanding that the Centre introduce a bill in the budget session of Parliament for formation of a separate Telangana state, TRS and various people’s organisations today warned that they will start a non -cooperation agitation if the demand was not accepted.

A well-attended public meeting organised here by the TRS and the people’s organisations passed a resolution demanding that a bill be introduced in the budget session for formation of separate Telangana. The meet was conducted to mark the completion of one year of the announcement made by the Centre that a separate of Telangana would be formed.

Union Home Minister P Chidambaram had announced on December 9 last year that steps will be taken for formation of a separate state by dividing Andhra Pradesh.”I am making a polite appeal to the Prime Minister to form separate Telangana. There is a limit to our patience. This is also an ultimatum,”TRS President K Chandasekhar Rao said in his address to the huge gathering tonight. He warned that Telangana agitation would become fierce if the demand was not accepted.

Referring to the remarks of a government employees Union leader earlier that the Union would start a non-cooperation movement in support of Telangana if the Centre did not accept the demand, he said stir would start with a’satyagraha’.”We, however, caution that the Telangana supporters should move cautiously and strategically. The Joint Action Committee (JAC) comprising TRS and a number of people’s groups would decide the future course of agitation in the event of the Centre not accepting the Telangana demand,”Rao said.
