Intolerance row: Aamir Khan removed as brand ambassador of Incredible India

If news to be believed Bollywood Superstar Aamir Khan has reportedly been , removed as brand ambassador of Incredible India by the tourism ministry.

Aamir has been the face of the campaign for many years now and has featured in a number of commercials issued in public interest by the government.

IT seems the Ministry of Tourism has taken Aamir Khan’s casual remarks on a serious note. However the Tourism Ministry has not yet released an official statement, there are already reports doing the rounds that the the Ministry as made no such moves.

But according to iibtimes news Amit Malviya, the national head of Digital Communication for the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party confirmed the news on Twitter.

Recently the 50-year-old veteran actor caused controversy with his statement that his wife, Kiran Rao was mulling to leave the country with their child due to increasing atmosphere of intolerance.

The actor came under massive fire after his statement. Several BJP leaders slammed the Bollywood superstar for his comments which led to massive protests against him. However, Aamir later clarified his statement saying “his remarks were misinterpreted and that he never think of leaving India”.
