New Delhi,July 16: Delhi Police today claimed to have unearthed a trafficking racket which has bases in Kathmandu, Kabul and Delhi with the arrest of four Nepalis, including two Nepali women.
The arrested were identified as Pumpa Lama (35), her local contact Puja Sharma (30) and Tek Bahadur Rana Magar and Ram Bahadur Thapa.
The arrests came after IGI airport officials found out that Magar and Thapa were travelling allegedly with fake passports.
While Tek Bahadur was travelling on the passport of one Dem Bahadur Katka, Ram Bahadur was using that of Diga Bahadur Basnet, a senior police official said.
A close scrutiny of their travel documents revealed that the real passport holders’ photos were substituted with that of the passengers in question, he said.
During their interrogation, it came to light that both were brought from Kathmandu by Lama, whose husband is a Buddhist Monk in Kathmandu.
