Internet shutdown: Internet across the globe is likely to experience widespread network issues as domain servers are scheduled to undergo routine maintenance over the next 48 hours.
In view of the routine maintenance, all global internet users will experience network connection failure confirmed Russia Today reports.
With rising cyber attacks across the globe becoming a menace, the Internet Corporation of Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) will carry out routine maintenance work by changing the cryptographic key that will help protect the internet’s address book or the Domain Name System (DNS).
The Communications Regulatory Authority (CRA) in its statement confirmed the global internet shutdown is necessary for ensuring a secure, stable and resilient DNS.
‘To further clarify, some internet users might be affected if their network operators or Internet Service Providers (ISPs) have not prepared for this change. However, this impact can be avoided by enabling the appropriate system security extensions,’ the statement added.
So dear internet users fret not if you face difficulties in accessing web pages or making any transactions in the next 48 hours. The connectivity issues will be solved once the maintenance is done.
