US President Donald Trump could be seen walking into the G20 summit in the background, in a post made by a Twitter user ‘HAWK1’:

Twitter user and journalist Richard Hall floated the idea that the handshake was “arranged beforehand”:
That Putin-MBS handshake had to have been arranged beforehand right? Aides negotiating the positioning and number of hand slaps etc. I'm struggling to believe that was a spontaneous bro-out.

Meanwhile, Philipp Liesenhoff, another Twitter user, mentioned that the handshake between Putin and MBS happened after Trump briefly met with MBS:

Democrat strategist Peter Daou said the handshake seemed to be an “inside joke”
Wow, there's some inside joke between Putin and MBS. https://t.co/3I6DFn75GA

The handshake comes at a time when there has been rising furore regarding a Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) report that hints at MBS’ hand in Washington Post journalist Jamal Khashoggi’s killing. The US president has refused to confirm the findings, while continuously reiterating the importance of having Saudi Arabia as an ally.
Meanwhile, there are tense relations between USA and Russia at the moment due to incidents which transpired in the Kerch Strait, which led to Trump cancelling his planned meeting with Putin on the sidelines of the ongoing G-20 Summit in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
