International Yoga Day observed at Sri City

In line with the call given by the United Nations General Assembly, Sri City community observed the ‘International Yoga Day’ on Sunday.

About 150 people, including the children and executives of Sri City and its units took part in the programme that commenced at 6 am.

Suresh, Yoga guru from Ramakrishna Mission, Chennai administered the event and performed surya namaskaras and various asanas. Highlighting the benefits of each of the exercise he performed, Suresh said they all aim to integrate the body and the mind.

Annotating on the occasion, Ravindra Sannareddy, Managing Director, Sri City said, “Yoga is an invaluable gift of India’s ancient tradition. It keeps mind and body healthy and stress free.”

“I appeal to the Sri City community to make yoga an everyday part of life for better health and improved relationships, more clarity of thought and creativity,” he added.

The event stated with the brief introductory speeches by P.S.B. Sastry, Assistant Development Commissioner and P. Mukunda Reddy, Director, Sri City. (INN)
