Hyderabad: Department of Persian, Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU), in collaboration with National Council for Promotion of Urdu Language (NCPUL), is organizing a 3-day international seminar, which begins today (March 21).
The title of the seminar is “The Indo-Persian Sources on Sciences and Technology”.
According to Director Seminar, Prof. Aziz Bano, who is also the Head of Department of Persian, the inaugural session will be held at 10:30 a.m. at Saiyid Hamid Library Auditorium, MANUU Campus. Prof. Chander Shekhar, Dept. of Persian, Delhi University, will deliver the keynote address. Prof. Irteza Karim, Director NCPUL, will be the chief guest and Padma Shri Prof. M. Abdul Waheed, former Director, Central Research Institute of Unani Medicine, Hyderabad will be the guest of Honour. Dr. Shakeel Ahmad, Pro Vice-Chancellor will preside over the session.
The valedictory session will be held on March 23, at 3:00 p.m. at Saiyid Hamid Library Auditorium. Former External Affairs Minister of Iran Dr. Kamal Kharazi will be the Chief Guest. Consul General Iran, Hyderabad Mr. Hassan Noorian and Consul General Iran, Mumbai Mr. Mehdi Zari will be the Guests of Honour. Dr. Mohammad Aslam Parvaiz, Vice-Chancellor will preside over the session.
