Maulana Azad National Urdu University, Centre for Social Exclusion & Inclusive Policy in collaboration with ICSSR is organizing a 3-day International Conference on “Status of Muslim Women in Indian Sub-Continent” on 6th – 8th March 2013. The inaugural programme will be held on 6th March 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at Library Auditorium, MANUU Campus, Gachibowli.
Ms. Uzma Naheed, Member, Personal Law Board & Director, Iqra International Foundation will be the Chief Guest, Prof. Zoya Hasan, Dean, School of Social Sciences, JNU (Delhi) will deliver the Keynote Address. Ms. Shamina Shafiq, Member, National Commission for Women will be the Guests of Honour. Prof. Mohammad Miyan, Vice-Chancellor will preside over the session.
Valedictory Session will be held on 8th March 2012 at 4:00 p.m. at Library Auditorium. Janab K. Rahman Khan, Hon’ble Minister for Minority Affairs, Govt. of India will be the Chief Guest, Ms. Teesta Setalvad, Indian Civil Rights Activist and Journalist will be the Guest of Honour, Prof. Shahnaz Nabi, Head, Dept. of Urdu, University of Calcutta, Kolkata, Prof. Nazmunnisa Mahtab, Head, Dept. of Women and Gender Studies, University of Dhaka, Bangladesh will be the Guest Speaker. Janab S. M. Ahmedullah, Minister of Minorities, Govt. of AP will also be present in the programme. Prof. Mohammad Miyan will preside over the session. National and International Women and Men and Activists are expected to attend this international conference. Prof. Kancha Ilaiah, Director CSSEIP and Dr. Farida Siddiqui, Convenor of the Conference requested to interested people to attend the conference.
