Hyderabad: In a first after Partition of the country, the historic International Nagar Kirtan of Sri Guru Nanak Prakash Yatra (Sikh religious procession) taken out as part of the 550th Birth anniversary celebrations of First Sikh Guru, Guru Nanak Devji, founder of Sikhism, border from holy shrine of Nankana Sahib, Lahore in Pakistan on August 1, is going to arrive Hyderabad on September 16.
The historic International Nagar Kirtan is to commemorate the 550th Prakash Purab of Guru Nanak Devji, which started from Nankana Sahib, the birthplace of Guru Nanak Dev Ji on August I, 2019 to spread Guru Nanak Devji’s teachings of eternal love, peace, equality and brotherhood across the globe and has entered India from Pakistan, through Wagah border in Punjab. After touring various parts of the country, it will reach Hyderabad on September 16.
Giving the details about the important event, the 550 Saal Guru Nanak Prakash Yatra Organising Committee, Hyderabad and Secunderabad, Chairman, S Gurucharan Singh Bagga and heads of Sikh Gurudwaras, S Inder Singh of Central Gurudwara Saheb Gowliguda, S Bhagender Singh (Ameerpet), S Harminder Singh (Charmahal), S Rashpal Singh (Autonagar), S Harbans Singh (Sikh Chawni, Barambala), TSS Secretary, S Pritam Singh and others said that the International Prakash Yatra will arrive from Nagpur via Nizamabad on September 15.
The yatra from Nizamabad will be received by the Sikh community of Telangana in a befitting manner by thousand of Sikhs by showering petals and flowers on the holy Saroop from Nankana Sahib, the birthplace of the first Sikh master on September 16 at 1 pm near Kandlaykoya Oxygen Park, CMR Group of Institutions, Kandlakoya, Medchal ORR Junction, after rousing reception there the yatra will pass through ORR road and will arrive at Pillar Number143 on PVNR Expressway, Attapur, Rajendranagar at 4 pm.
From pillar number 143 at Attapur, a colorful procession called Nagar Kirtan of Palki Saheb, Sri Nishan Saheb of all Gurudwara Saheb of Telangana will be taken out from Attapur to Gurudwara Saheb, Barambala, Sikh Chawniat, Kishanbagh at around 9 pm.
The International Nagar Kirtan yatra will have a night stay at Gurudwara Saheb, Barambala, Sikh Chawniat on Monday. On September 17 (Tuesday), the International Nagar Kirtan of Sri Guru Nanak Prakash Yatra will start from the Kishanbah Gurudwara at 9 am and will leave for Gurudwara Nanak Jhira Bidar, Karnataka.
