Hyderabad, October 01 (Siasat News): Chief Minister Dr K Rosaiah directed the officials to see that the aged and disabled get their pensions and other benefits on time.
He declared the state of Andhra Pradesh the first state to introduce monthly pension to all women SHG members over 60 years through “Abhayahastham” scheme.
Chief Minister said senior citizens need all the care from the society in general and the younger generation in particular.
Dr Rosaiah was talking to officials ahead of International Day of Older Persons which is being celebrated on 1st October every year. He said ‘This day provides an opportunity to acknowledge the dignity and needs of the senior citizens.’ A state Level function ‘Day of Older Persons’ is being organised on the 1st October.
