An interlocutory application (IA) has been filed in the High Court praying the court to instigate suo motu criminal contempt proceedings against the government and BBMP for misleading the High Court at a number of instances regarding garbage disposal issue.
G R Mohan, Bangalore-based advocate filed the IA filed quotes the High Court, which had said that landfills were not the permanent solution to garbage disposal.
The BBMP has claimed that dry waste collection centres were constructed in 146 wards, but in actuality these collections centres were not functioning.
The IA states that the accused (BBMP) is in the habit of misleading the court time and gain.
