District Shamli in Uttar Pradesh has great historical importance. The struggle for India’s independence had started from here. A village called Sonta Rasoolpur in the district which comprised population over 15000 with 90 percent of them are Muslims. The village also surrounded by numerous villages which have Muslim majority. But there is no institution which can impart education to them.
A trust called Jami-Ul-Uloom Educational Welfare Society, lead by Moulana
Abdul Sattar Qasmi, Imam of Eidgah Masjid Jayanagar, Bangalore has established a school in his home town having integration of Islamic and modern education. Speaking to Karnataka Muslims, Moulana said that, the prime objective of the school is to bring-up children in the light of Quran, Hadith and adding Islamic values in them. The school also provides contemporary education at primary and high school level with separate blocks for boys and girls, Moulana said and added that it also offers free education with residential facility for orphans.
“Over 200 students from the village have enrolled this year and their schooling is being managed in a temporary shed,” said Moulana. A plot has been purchased for school building and the estimated price for the completion of buliding would be 1.75 lakh, said Moulana and also appealed to people to contribute towards noble Islamic cause.
