Interference in Islamic Shariah intolerable: Shabbir

Hyderabad: Leader of Opposition in Telangana Legislative Council, Mohammed Ali Shabbir will soon reach New Delhi and meet authorities of All India Muslim Personal Law Board. Mohammed Ali Shabbir has decided to become a party to the case pending with Supreme Court regarding Muslim Personal Law. He met Authorities of Jamiat Ulama in this connection and said he will not tolerate implementation of Uniform Civil Code and interference in Islamic Shariah. Central government has filed an affidavit against triple Talaq and polygamy in Supreme Court. M A Shabbir said that he is in touch with the legal experts in New Delhi and has informed them abut his decision to become party to the case. He will finalise the strategy to follow up the case in Supreme Court after meeting with the authorities of All India Muslim Personal Law Board.

He appealed Muslims to support Personal Law Board in this critical situation. He lamented that some elements are going against Personal Law Board’s stand and asserted that such elements are more interested in their political gains than protection of Islamic Shariah.
