Inter-State robbers gang busted in city

In a joint operation, the Commissioner’s Task Force of North Zone, Central Zone and Gopalpuram police here on Saturday nabbed five members of an inter-State robbery gang of Bhiwandi of Maharasthra.

After close surveillance, the police nabbed five accused red handed while they were moving around Secunderabad Railway station suspiciously to commit robbery and their other accomplices were absconding. The five arrested were wanted in four robbery cases. The police also  seized three mobile phones and some cash.

The accused Sarfaraz Mohd Hussain Memon, Amir Yasin Shaik, Akhil Yasin Shaik, Javeed Yaseen Shaik are family relatives formed a gang with Akram Raju Shaik, Aslam Asgar Ali Shaik, Amin Munshi Shaik, Nasir Ahamad Khan, Sagar Ramesh Lagad  and Akhil Yaseen Shaik all belonging to Bhiwandi in Thane District of Maharashtra. All the accused gather at Bhiwanid and engage a cab to come to Hyderabad and take shelter at the Secunderabad Railway Station for the night and in the early hours they reach the selected business areas like Monda Market, Mahankali Street, Begumbazaar, Abids, Nampally and so on.

On the way, they identity a person, who was carrying cash bag or cash cover in his hand follow him up to some distance. Accused Deepak, Sagar Ramesh Lagad cover the face of the prey by putting bags from both sides while Akram Raju Shaik snatches the cash bag. At the same time, other accused pose as passersby and surround the victim. Later all the accused vanish and gather at another place to chalk out their plans. In the same manner, they commit robberies in other business areas in the city.    The accused share the booty after returning to Bhiwandi. The accused committed robberies in Chennai, Mumbai, Ajmir, Bangalore, Hyderabad, and Jalgon in Maharashtra.

 

Police said on May 3 this year, the accused robbed a cash bag containing Rs 25,000 from one JVR Sarma at Oliphant railway bridge under Gopalpuram PS limits and sped. Later on June 14, the accused snatched a cash bag containing Rs 10,000 one Mohammed Anwar near SBI, Osmangunj Branch, Begumbazar. On the same day, they snatched a cash bag containing Rs 1,00,000 from Gorrepally Ramchandraiah. The accused also committed robberies in Jalgon City in Maharashtra State.

The accused were handed over to Gopalpuram Police. The arrests were made under the supervision of B. Limba Reddy, DCP, Commissioner’s Task Force, Hyderabad by P.
