Inter-State gang of job fraudsters racket busted

Hyderabad: On a tip-off, today the Commissioner’s Task Force personnel of Central and West Zone Teams apprehended eight persons of two gangs, who indulged in cheating unemployed youth luring them to provide jobs in various departments of Central and State Government sectors like Railway, Revenue, Education Departments and so on. The police seized cash of Rs 24.1 lakh, fake appointment orders and fake Identity cards. The accused allegedly cheated some 100 to 150 youths after collecting huge amounts from them for providing jobs.

The accused were identified as Vardhanapu Gangadhar, 35, of Kakinada, Pitla Dathadri, 28, Real Estate broker of Pet Basheer Bagh and a native Nanded District, M. Shiva Reddy alias Venkat, 27, of Peerzadiguda, Uppal, RR District and native of Nalgonda District, K. Rajesh, 31, of Peerzadiguda, Uppal and native of Godavarikani in Karimnagar District, Aerukonda Swamy alias Swamy, 32, of Vanasthalipuram and native of Narayanpur Mandal, Nalogonda District, Mukkera Kranthi Kumar, 30, of Zamisthanpur, Secunderabad and native of Karimnagar District, Yamsani Veeresham, 49, Kirana merchant of Huzurabad of Karimnagar District, Mekkonda Srikanth, 35, Data Entry Operator, of Ram Nagar, Secunderabad and native of Mancherial District and P. Padma Reddy of Vanasthalipuram (Fake RRC Web Designer) absconding.

The Modus Operandi of the accused was that they formed into a gang and started cheating the unemployed youth through their known friends and relatives with a promise to provide jobs as “Ticket Collector, Commercial Clerk, Point Men and Attender” in Railways, “Junior Assistant, clerks and Attenders” in Revenue, Education, Secretariat, High Court, TSTRANSCO, GHMC and various other Government sectors and demanded Rs 10 lakh to Rs 25 lakh and took advance Rs 1 lakh to Rs 10 lakh from each candidate. After issuing appointment letters to drag time, they conducted training classes at Durgapur, Asansol of West Bengal and Khurda in Odisha State.

So far, 10 cases were registered against the accused in various police stations of Hyderabad City – one case each in SR Nagar PS, Market PS, Chilkalguda PS, Panjagutta PS, Chikkadapally, Gopalapuram PS, Gachibowli P.S, Pendurthy PS of Visakhapatnam City, AP and two cases in Saifabad P.S. The eight accused were handed over to SHO, SR Nagar PS and SHO, Saifabad PS. (NSS)
