Hyderabad: Charminar police today arrested one inter-State dacoit gang member identified as Amjad Khwaja Ameen Shaik alias Amja, 41, of Thane in Maharashtra State under Preventive Detention Act. He was involved in over 17 cases under various police stations in Mumbai and one case under Charminar police station limits. The city police sent him to Chanchalguda Central Prison.
The accused was working as a distributor in Aircel and residing at Lateef Park, on the Meera Road East, Thane, Maharashtra State. Amjad Khwaja Ameen Shaik was involved in 17 dacoity/robbery and snatching cases in various police Stations of Mumbai.
Recently the accused along with his accomplices committed a dacoity and took away 3.5 kg gold ornaments from a workshop located Moosabowli under Charminar police limits. He was arrested by the Charminar police on March 14 his year and was sent to judicial remand along with his associates.
As his criminal activities posed danger to general public and prejudicial to the maintenance of law and order, Amjad was arrested under Sections 452, 395 IPC and Section 25(1)(A) of Arms Act by Charminar PS and sent to Chanchalguda Central prison. (NSS)
