Swarna hails from Viqarabad; she has studied till intermediate from Telugu medium. She works at a petrol pump at Bazarghat where 6 other girls also work beside her. All are educated and belong to Viqarabad. Swarna said that she belonged to poor family. She has been working on the petrol pump for 6 months. Working on alternate days she earns Rs. 7500 per month. Petrol pump owner has arranged accommodation for the girls.
Swarna says sometimes she and her colleagues cook the food and at times they buy eatables from outside. Petrol pump owner Sadeq Husain told that these days it is difficult to hire boys for the work. In contrast to that girls are more dedicated and honest. They work with discipline. They also behave well with the customers. They don’t chat and mind their own business. Instead of wasting their money on costume and cosmetics they save the money and send to their parents.
If only our girls could get a lesson from the meticulous life of Swarna and her colleagues.
