“Students need exposure to contexts and situations that require them to use their knowledge in the right manner. They also need to constantly measure their own performance with and learn from as many of their contemporaries as possible. Our endeavor at HBS is to provide this experience to students in our own way,” said Prof. S.S. Prasada Rao, Dean and Director, Hyderabad Business School (HBS), GITAM University.
Prof. Prasada Rao was addressing the students from various colleges from the twin cities who gathered at GITAM University here, for the finals in HBS Quest – 2014, Inter-collegiate Cultural Competitions, today.
For the past few weeks, the competitions in Quiz, Debate and Group Dance events, have been conducted at the individual college level and the finalists were selected for the inter-collegiate competitions.
The team from Pragati Mahavidyalaya emerged as winners in the Quiz event while the St. Francis Degree College team was the runner up. The St. Francis Degree College team won the Debate competition and the team from IIMC Degree College stood second. In the Group Dance event, the team from Pragati Degree College for Women, Dilsukhnagar, won the first prize and the team from Scholars’ Degree College, Dilsukhnagar, bagged the second prize. The cash prizes were given away to prize winning teams by the senior faculty of HBS. The faculty members who accompanied the participants were felicitated by HBS.
