Shimla, March 05: Intense cold wave maintained its grip in the mid and higher hills of Himachal Pradesh with minimum temperatures remaining three degree below normal even as weather cleared after a week.
Bhuntar was coldest in the non-tribal areas with minimum temperature at 3 degree Celsius while Shimla, Sundernagar and Solan recorded a low of 5 deg C.
Mandi, Palampur, Dharamsala and Una recorded a minimum temperatures of 5.3 deg C, 5.4 deg C, 7.3 deg C and 8.6 deg C respectively.
Nahan was warmest at night with low of 11.2 deg C while Keylong in tribal Lahaul and Spiti district recorded lowest temperature with mercury dipping to minus 8.4 deg C.
The day temperatures rose marginally with Una remaining hottest with maximum temperature at 23 deg C while Keylong recorded a high of 12.2 deg C, ten degrees above normal.
