Intense battle in Yemen, 200 people killed in 6 days

Sana’a: US appeal proved futile for the cease-fire in Yemen. War continues in Yemeni city Hodeidah. At least 200 people have been killed in the Houthi occupied city during the past 6 days.

According to a foreign agency, Coalition-backed Yemeni troops are inching closer to the city’s Houthi rebel-held centre with the help of Apache attack helicopters. They have secured a key road leading to Hodeidah’s port.

The international aid agency Red Cross has appealed to clear a path to drive the trapped Houthis out of the capital, Sana’a, and end the war. Red Cross has also appealed the parties not to hurt general public and infrastructure during the war.

It must be noted that 10000 people have been killed so far during the war between Yemeni forces and Houthi rebels. The World Health Organisation has expressed fears that the human crisis could intensify in Yemen.

According to Save the Children staff in Hodeidah more than 100 airstrikes have hit civilian neighbourhoods in the past few days.
