Intellectuals urge Kiran to step up SC, ST plans

Hyderabad, March 13: Former civil services offices, professors and functionaries of social organisations have requested Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy to take up special crash programmes for complete utilisation of allocated funds meant for SC Special Component Plan (SCSP) and Tribal Sub-Plan (TSP).

In a letter to the Chief Minister on Saturday, former IAS officers K.R. Venugopal, T. Gopala Rao, K. Madhava Rao, V.N.V.K. Sastry, B. Danam and others pointed out the failure in spending funds allocated for SCSP and TSP and sought measures to address the problem. They suggested a plan of action in order to ensure elimination of disparities .They urged him to take up assessment in both the house of AP Legislature on the fresh quantification and reserving unspent SCSP and TSP funds for the development SCs and STs.
