Hyderabad: Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has decided to extend the accident insurance policy for drivers, homeguards and journalists for one year. He signed the file pertaining to payment of Rs.5 crore premium for accident insurance policy for drivers, homeguards and journalists in the State on Saturday.
According to officials, the insurance scheme provides cover of Rs.5 lakh against accidental death. There are about 9.68 lakh drivers, 21,289 homeguards and over 10,000 journalists covered under the insurance scheme.
