Insult to ‘Tiranga’: Tejashwi slams Giriraj’s demand to ban ‘green flags’

Patna (Bihar): RJD leader and former Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar Tejashwi Yadav on Wednesday said BJP leader Giriraj Singh’s demand to ban “green flags” is an insult to the tricolour (Tiranga).

“This is an insult to the tricolour. The green colour is there in Tiranga too,” he said while talking to reporters here. “One ideology, one thinking cannot be forcefully imposed on everyone. I don’t like the name- Giriraj Singh. Change the name,” he quipped.

The RJD leader alleged that the BJP is not talking about farmers, youth, jobs and other issues. “What kind of politics is this?” he asked.

When asked about Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s interview with Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar, Tejashwi said, “He is doing his personal profiling. He has done nothing so he thinks Akshay Kumar will help float his boat.”

Lok Sabha polls in 14 out of the 40 seats at stake in Bihar were conducted in the first three phases – on April 11, 18 and 23.

Polling in the remaining 26 seats will be held in the next four phases of elections, and counting of votes will take place on May 23.
