Instruction board not enough to preserve sanctity of Makkah Masjid

The foreign tourists who visit Charminar do not want to miss the chance of having a visit to historical Makkah Masjid. But sadly the woman tourists fail to preserve the sanctity of the masjid. Although the instruction board at the entrance of Makkah Masjid clearly states both in Urdu and English that ‘Ladies are requested to enter the mosque with hijab (dupatta)’, but there are only few who abide by this rule.

It must be noted that 2 to 3 thousand tourist arrive at Makkah Masjid daily. Recently during Minority Welfare Minister Mr. Mohammed Ahmedullah’s visit to the masjid, the embarrassing scenes of men and women walking hand in hand in the Masjid courtyard were common.

Minority Welfare Department should arrange dupattas for non-Muslim and foreign woman tourists. This will create awareness among non Muslim tourists regarding sanctity and holiness of the Masjid.
