Inspector dies of cardiac arrest while driving car

New Delhi: A Delhi Police inspector died after suffering a cardiac arrest while driving a car in east Delhi’s Vikar Marg, police said today.

The deceased official was identified as Pratap Singh, a 1996-batch inspector posted at IGI Airport, police said.

Around 1 PM, passer-by called up the police and reported about a parked car whose driver was apparently unconscious. A police team rushed to the spot immediately and pulled out Singh after breaking a window, DCP (East) B S Gurjar said.

He was rushed to a hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead. His body was sent for a post-mortem examination and the report obtained today suggested that he died of a cardiac arrest, Gurjar added.
