On the fourth day also, the transport department officials have continued their inspections across the state and seized 62 private buses and registered 75 cases.
On Thursday, the transport officials, forming as specials teams, conducted inspection of the vehicles on highways, check-posts and on roads since early morning. The officials thoroughly inspected vehicles in Ongole, Guntur, Eluru, Tirupati and Hyderabad, and seized 62 private buses which were running in violation of the rules. 22 buses in Ongole, 18 buses in Nellore, 16 in Guntur, two in Eluru and four in Tirupati were seized. The transport officials also informed that they have registered 75 cases against them. The special teams also inspected the schools in the areas of Secunderabad, Borabanda, Dilsukhnagar, Mehdipatnam.
The transport officials also seized four SETWIN buses, which were transporting more passengers than the permitted capacity.
