Insha Malik dreamed of becoming a doctor, but now lying in bed completely blind

Kashmiri: Insha Malik, the 14 years old Kashmiri girl whose pellet ridden face became the symbol of pellet injury in conflict torn Kashmir is lying on a bed at All India Institute of Medical Sciences here.

She has not only become blind in both eyes but also lost her mental balance due to a brain infection resulting from pellet injury.

Insha’s mother told MuslimMirror.com that Insha, a class 9 student had been sitting with her mother and siblings in the kitchen on first floor of the house and studying at 8pm on 10th of July.

Clashes were going on all over the valley between protesters and armed forces over the killing of Hizbul Mujahideen militant Burhan Wani.

Insha got up and looked out of the window. Suddenly pellets hit her; she let out a sharp cry and collapsed.

An CRPF man standing below had fired at her with a pellet gun.

Talking to MuslimMirror.com Insha’s sobbing father Mushtaq Ahmad Lone said “I want her eyesight back even if in just one eye. This is my only request”.

“Insha is a brilliant student and an ideal daughter. She wanted to become a doctor but now everything is finished” he added.

Insha has lost vision in her left eye and there are “zero chances” of the teenager regaining vision in her right eye.

Loan himself suffered a serious leg injury two years ago while he was working as a driver. A steel rod is fixed in his leg and he now works as a farmer as a farmer in Sedav village of Shopian district.
