Jaunpur: Taking a jibe at Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav for criticizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Mann Ki Baat’, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Amit Shah on Sunday said the former is not capable of understanding the radio address.
“Akhilesh Yadav says that he does not understand the Prime Minister’s ‘Mann Ki Baat’. On this I would say that to understand ‘Mann Ki Baat’, he needs to have sensible mind and understanding,” Shah said while addressing a rally in Jaunpur.
The Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister had earlier been critical of Prime Minister Modi’s ‘Mann ki Baat’ programme and stated that he should listen to people’s plight instead of addressing the nation via radio.
“I don’t understand Prime Minister Modi’s ‘Mann ki Baat’. Instead of doing ‘Mann ki Baat’, he should do Kaam ki Baat,” he said while addressing elections rallies in poll-bound Uttar Pradesh.
Elaborate arrangements are being put in place for tomorrow’s fifth phase of assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh. 51 constituencies spread over 11 districts in Terai and eastern part of the state, will go to polls in this phase.
The districts are Balrampur, Gonda, Faizabad, Ambedkar Nagar, Bahraich, Shravasti, Siddharth Nagar, Basti, Sant Kabir Nagar, Amethi and Sultanpur.
Polling for Alapur Assembly seat was postponed till the 9th of next month following the death of a Samajwadi Party candidate.
