Secretary of INSAF Organization, Mr. Syed Hameed Uddin Mahmood express his concern on the carelessness of state Govt. and Central Govt. for not protecting the Wakf properties. He said that on the 1 hand Central Minister of Minorities Affairs Mr. K. Rehman Khan makes lofty claims of protecting Wakf properties and their use according to Wakf deeds but in Andhra Pradesh illegal possessions on Wakf lands are on the increase.
The illegal occupants have been continuing illegal constructions on these lands despite Gazzette notifications of these Wakf properties. In Posh areas of Secunderabad, Tirumalgiri, Bolaram, Sainikpuri and Moula Ali, hundreds of acres have been seized by illegal occupants despite representations on various occasions, Govt. seems to be non-serious. There is a proposal to organize a National level meeting in Delhi in the month of August in which public organizations and NGOs would be invited.
